About Jenn

Jenn as Bedd Branwen (Branwen's Grave) on Ynys Mon, Anglesey, North Wales
For four years, Jenn made her home in North Wales, UK, where she studied Welsh language and literature before returning to live in her beloved Neuse River watershed. Jenn discovered written language at the age of 3--and has been writing ever since, merging her love of people, places and psychology together in the form of poetry and prose. She is editor for Hiraeth Press' Written River: A Journal of Eco-Poetics.

As a bioregionalist, she is concerned with the nature-human relationship, and how the language and stories we use influence our dreaming, thinking and behaving. In her own life, this gives rise to hobbies and interests such as a love for hill (and woodland) walking, herbalism, wild and regional cuisine, stories of place, traveling -- and most of all, gardening.

Jenn is about to begin her PhD in Social Psychology, researching the neuroscience, pyschophysiology, linguistics and socio-cultural processes of emotion experience. This research is a key thread for her, as she seeks to support humanity's appreciation and engagement with their bodies and emotions, and the "non-rational" parts of themselves.
